TOTH + CO

This office space for a design and advertising agency created a workplace that enhances the firm’s open, flexible, and collaborative atmosphere. Occupying one floor of a nineteenth century brick warehouse, the building’s original heavy timber now commingles with plywood, steel, and polycarbonate, establishing an informal, dynamic ethos that reflects both its client base and employee culture.

AW used the building’s existing structural rhythm of wood columns and beams and paired windows to establish visual organization within the flexible workspace. A new, multi-functional lighting system reflects this pattern and unites open studio space, private offices, display walls, and reception. For this project, we also designed customizable workstations that include both desks and a partition system, whose many configurations all engage translucent polycarbonate walls that allow shared light to filter throughout the floor. This provides the privacy necessary for administrative offices while also visually connecting the different client groups and supporting their cross-pollination of ideas
