Makoto Abe, AIA

Senior Practitioner

Makoto is a Senior Practitioner at AW–ARCH with diverse experience in a variety of institutional, commercial, and residential projects. His skill at integrating materiality with construction and with a project’s fundamental generators makes him an essential contributor in AW projects, including Brown University’s Friedman Hall, the Ankara Tower, and the American Indian Learning Resource Center at University of Minnesota – Duluth. Makoto has served as a visiting design critic at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, MIT, and Northeastern University. 

 

Makoto has an M.Arch. from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and a B.A. from Keio University in Japan.
